Street Health Community Art Project

Street Health

338 Dundas Street East, Toronto, Ontario, M5A 2A1
Unveiled on April 5, 2018.

When Street Health renovated its clinical space to make it wheelchair accessible, they also re-paved the walkway and installed a new metal gate.

The gate was imposing and institutional in appearance. To make its front entrance more welcoming, Street Health enlisted Red Dress to create a collaborative mosaic artwork.

We met with members of the community to learn about the people, the places, the history, and the heart of the Dundas St. East and Sherbourne area to make the artwork itself.

The new piece, a ceramic, glass, and stone mosaic, was created with Street Health clients, staff, and community members and led by Red Dress artists Anna Camilleri, Tristan R. Whiston, and Katie Yealland.

We thank the Government of Ontario, the Ontario Arts Council, All Saints Church, CRC, Houselink Community Homes, Regent Park Community Health Centre, Starbucks Coffee Canada, David Mintz Catering, and AYS Party Rentals.
