Creative Producer/Communications Coordinator
12 hours / week (part-time), 1 year contract

The Creative Producer/Communications Coordinator position is a critical part of a small staff team, driving and supporting the work of Red Dress Productions. As with most small arts organizations, this position will also be expected to contribute to shared responsibilities and a collaborative work environment.

Founded in 2005, Red Dress Productions (RDP) creates interdisciplinary art, performance, media, and visual public artworks. Our work often includes elements of social-engagement or interactivity that dilutes boundaries of artistic and social convention between audience/participant and performer/artist.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications
-Update and edit website content, as needed via WordPress
-Update Performance/Installation/Unveiling promotional documents
-Create show programs, flyers, and other small design materials as needed
-Disseminate quarterly newsletters via Mailchimp
-Update content and maintain Facebook/Instagram/Vimeo/social media presence
-Organize and maintain digital and physical press archive
-Produce and maintain up to date outreach and communications documents
-Maintain contact databases
-Field press interviews & requests as needed

Project Coordination
-Produce and oversee projects and major events, in conjunction with the managing Artistic Directors
-Track and maintain release and consent forms, subscriber database, and evaluation and debrief processes
-Meet with presenters and representatives from relevant organizations
-Book workshop, event, and rehearsal venues, and accommodations and travel for touring productions
-Create and update project schedules
-Gather and compile performance statistics after each project
-Attend and provide support for rehearsals and production meetings before presentation
-Help to manage volunteers

General/Administration
-Attend weekly staff meetings
-Commit to an office presence for one day a week
-Support grant and proposal administration (writing, editing, submitting) and pre-production for touring projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
-Appreciation for what RDP does, and our mission/vision
-Demonstrated experience with multi-year or project grants
-Lived and/or work experience with Deaf, disabled, Black, Indigenous, LGBTQIP2S Spectrum and other racialized artists and communities
-Knowledge of anti-oppressive, intersectional framework, and community engagement practices
-Sound knowledge and experience of event production and planning and a track record of event/workshop coordination and facilitation;
-Strong writing, communications, and interpersonal skills
-Arts administration skills gained from institutional settings or self-initiated projects
-Excellent time management, prioritization and organization skills and the ability to effectively support multiple and concurrent projects
-Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Applications, Mac OS, WordPress as well as various social media platforms
-A flexible schedule, as the job will include some evening and weekend hours
-Openness to meeting and working with new people and collaborating with others
-Ability to learn quickly, and adapt to new environments and contexts
-Ability to work independently, remotely, and as part of a dynamic team
-A proactive problem solver, who approaches difficult situations with optimism and pragmatism, and is willing to take initiative

REMUNERATION
Starting at 12 hours/week at $21/hour, the Creative Producer/Communications Coordinator will be hired on a one-year contract, with possibility for renewal. The first six months will be a probationary period. We are looking for someone who is flexible to shifts in their hours and responsibilities, as this is a new position and may require adjustment over the year.
